So after seeing this pattern I thought it would be fun to make (Alexus1325 suggests it all the time...).  I wasn't pregnant at the time and I just thought it would be a fun shirt to make.  The pattern used to be free but it looks like you need to purchase it now.

I made a few changes to the pattern.  I lined the bodice and the straps (with the polka dot fabric).  I finished the edges of the sleeves.  I used 4-way stretch fabric and cut the straps such that there is a seam so that they were cut across the width of the fabric (this saved a tonne of fabric and at $22/m I needed to).  (I don't remember if they ended up being 1 piece or 2...)

And since it seems like if you make a maternity shirt you are doomed ( Cheesy) to get pregnant:

A few comments on the pattern:
The sleeves are really narrow--I should have made them a little more forgiving.  Also wearing this shirt can be a pain (the wrapping moves and you can end up with skin showing).  I also found it hard to get it wrapped well while pregnant as I couldn't seem to wrap it so it was tight at the edge of the bodice yet covered the belly.  It is also a pain to wash/dry...

It looks lovely on you, pregnant or not. I like the lining, it adds a great touch.

This is so cute I love the contrast you did. And if making a maternity shirt causes pregnacy I am off to make one right now. But you did a great job. so cute thank you for sharing.

Heeeeeey, looks great! Thanks for the info about the strappy bits sliding around your belly. Did ya have that problem before the belly?

This is still on my giant million-page to-do list Tongue

Thanks ALexus1325.

The straps did move around when I wasn't pregnant as well, but not quite as badly.

to wash I'd suggest putting it in a pillow case (pillow sham, pillow cover?) and then tying the top with a hairband (bobble? scrunchie?). machine wash as normal and let hang to dry OR leave in the pillow case and tumble dry. this is how i used to wash my meitai as it had awfully long straps.
