I am a decorative painter by trade- so this is how I earn my living. But have you ever heard the saying, "The cobbler has holes in his shoes"? I normally never take the time or energy to execute a paint finish in my own home, like I would do for a client.  Being the leopard print lovin' girl that I am, our dining room got stenciled- I don't know what got into me!

The entire dining room got stenciled below the chair rail. I am horrible with the camera, so you'll just have to trust me when I say it looks really chic. (In my humble opinion Wink)

A close up where you can see the banding in the background.

A detail shot showing the outlet.

The first stencil layer.

The second layer.

If anyone is interested in a tutorial, please let me know. While tedious, this is a very easy treatment (when you know all the tricks!). There are no gross wall paper seams, it's almost free if you own the basics and you can just paint right over it when you get tired of it. Everyone who sees it is amazed that it's not wall paper.

Thanks for looking!
