One thing I definitely learned from this swap: I suck at taking pictures. Anyone have any good "learn how to take good pictures" tutorials I can read? Wink

I received from Kitiza and I took pictures, but I can't find my cord to transfer pictures. Angry

I will take another look again around the apt and hopefully post them by tomorrow.

WHAT A GREAT IDEA! I have a couple favorite shirts that I can't let go of but also can't get the pit stained smell of years of wear out. Making a tote out of them sounds like a fair compromise! Awesome!

MEEEE TOO, mommai!!!!  I have to put my finger over my flash to get pictures that don't gleam! Then they are orangey!  I tried using an umbrella yesterday holding it in one hand while holding my camera in the other.  Still got a glare.   Cool

I always take my photos in natural light where possible. That is your best option to get the most accurate representation of your subject.

You can use the free website www.picnik.com to edit the exposure of your photos, and if you're not confident with that you can use the auto-adjust buttons. Works like a treat Smiley

Hope that helps Cool

Totally second this. I've started taking pictures on my porch--the best is when you're not in direct glaring sunlight but it's still pretty bright (afternoon and morning tends to be good). Also I read this great tip somewhere that mentioned using indoor windows that get lot of light, by making sure you are shooting right next to it but perpendicular to the window, so the light is coming in and hitting your subject from the side.

So my partner pioneer9 received today (apparently the mail from CA to NJ is faster than it is in the other direction??), and since she doesn't have a camera here are my pictures of what I sent:

She put "whimsical monsters" on her questionnaire which may have been a huge mistake:

I actually got my package on Monday when I had just sent off the stuffie and the tote, died of happiness at seeing all the goodies she sent me, then freaked out that I didn't fill the tote enough, so I sent her a second batch a day later, with 50% more Firefly (a hoop with a quote from the show):

Great swapping with you, pioneer9, and great swap all round. I love all the variety here!
