I made this hoop for padfoot as part of Rnd 6 of the Dr Who Swap, and am just now getting to post it.  The weeping angels were one of her favorite villains (as well as mine), and I wanted to try something different with an embroidery hoop, so I came up with this:

looks innocent enough, but beware, and DON'T BLINK, or else you may find this:

the "flap" can flip from one side to the other, and is held down with snaps.  used 3 strand DMC floss for most of the outlines, and then 2 strands for the interior details.  had so much fun with this themed swap!  may tweak the "method" for the flip page and try it again, i had a lot of trial and error the first time around Smiley

That is so awesome. How did you come up with the flap idea?

thank you all!

That is so awesome. How did you come up with the flap idea?

i knew i wanted some way to have the 2nd image hidden at first, so i just brainstormed/tried a few things, and this one worked out the best Smiley

advice for others who want to try: leave PLENTY of seam allowance on the 2 parts when attaching them.  You can see at the very bottom of the flap that it has pulled out of the frame a bit b/c i didn't leave enough around the edges....

This is really beautifully done, such a great idea with the flap. The Weeping Angels terrified me both times!
