Weeping Angel Hoop

I made this hoop for padfoot as part of Rnd 6 of the Dr Who Swap, and am just now getting to post it.  The weeping angels were one of her favorite villains (as well as mine), and I wanted to try something different with an embroidery hoop, so I came up with this:

looks innocent enough, but beware, and DON'T BLINK, or else you may find this:


the "flap" can flip from one side to the other, and is held down with snaps.  used 3 strand DMC floss for most of the outlines, and then 2 strands for the interior details.  had so much fun with this themed swap!  may tweak the "method" for the flip page and try it again, i had a lot of trial and error the first time around

i knew i wanted some way to have the 2nd image hidden at first, so i just brainstormed/tried a few things, and this one worked out the best

advice for others who want to try: leave PLENTY of seam allowance on the 2 parts when attaching them.  You can see at the very bottom of the flap that it has pulled out of the frame a bit b/c i didn't leave enough around the edges....

This is really beautifully done, such a great idea with the flap. The Weeping Angels terrified me both times!
