While not mentioned in the books, I believe these 'Trufflepuffs' are standard fare in the Hufflepuff common room...

These are ridiculously easy to make.  I can't take credit for the recipe -- it's floated around the internet for quite some time -- but I did add the white icing "badger stripes"!

Oreo Truffles

Take 1 (15.5 oz) pkg of Oreo cookies and whizz them fine in a food processor. (Or crush them in a baggie)
Cut up and add 1 (8 oz) pkg of cream cheese.  Process (or beat in) until there are no more white streaks.

Roll small balls of the mixture and place them on a lined tray.  Refrigerate for 30-45 minutes.

In a double boiler, melt 1 1/2 pounds of chocolate.  (You can also microwave this in increments; set for 30 seconds, stir the chocolate; set for 30 seconds, stir the chocolate... repeat)

Dip the chilled fillings in the chocolate with a fork, and let the excess drip off before putting them back on the tray and popping them back in the fridge to help them harden.

Using royal icing or melted white chocolate, drizzle badger strips across the top of the truffles.
Let the truffles get to room temperature before serving.

OH NOES! The end of an era. The Harry Potter post is unpinned, and floating off to Archiverzan Prison. Just makes me sad, is all.
