Harry Potter Recipes Collection

Hello Harry Potter fans! While organizing the Decked Out for Deathly Hallows Swap Part II, I realized that there is no thread of Harry Potter recipes here on Craftster!
If you have a HP themed recipe you want added to the list, you can do one of two things. If it already has it's own thread, please send me a link to it via PM. If you have not written up your own posting of it and do not plan to, you can post it as a reply here. I will provide a link directly to it in this first post.
So c'mon friends! Send me your best Butterbeer, or your most wonderful Fizzing Whizbees. Favorite Fever Fudge and most luscious Licorice Wands. We want them all!

Fizzing Whizbees
(by schultebunny)
Pop Rocks (any flavor)
similar-colored sanding sugar
Caro Syrup (the clear kind) **optional**
empty the pop rocks into a bowl and let sit for several minutes (this works best in humid environments, like Texas or Louisiana. if there's little humidity, use a drop of so of the Caro syrup.)
in a separate bowl, pour some similar-colored sanding sugar in the bottom.
i.e.: if you're using strawberry pop rocks, use red sanding sugar. for the bubblegum pop rocks, use pink. blue for blue raspberry, etc.
using gloves (the pop rocks will stick to your fingers, and lose their "fizziness"), scoop about 1/2 teaspoon of pop rock and squish and mash and roll the pop rocks into a tight ball. here in Texas, I found that the more I handled the pop rocks, the stickier they got, which I wanted.
drop the pop-rock-balls into the bowl with the sanding sugar and coat thoroughly.
package in little treat bags with a little extra sanding sugar.
to eat:
place one or several fizzing whizbees in your mouth and enjoy the fizziness! (works best when you suck on them-not bite them.)

Schultebunny, I don't see how the whizbees stick together or is that where the humidity factor comes in?
I have all of the ingredients for these so I want to give them a try for our Potterthon later this week.

the pop rocks are made of sugar, and CO2, and when the humidity hits the pop rocks (or, if you're lucky and don't live in a very humid state, the Caro Syrup) it kind of "melts" the sugar, and when you mush and mash and squeeze it all together, it makes a slightly solid candy ball. (show of hands, who here used to take a stick of gum and mash it up into a ball before sticking in your mouth as a kid? anyone? anyone? Bueler?)
I wish I had taken pictures when I did my practice run (as I still can't find my camera or camera cord after the move), so that I could show you guys. I'll try to get pics ASAP, so that it makes a little more sense. it's super easy!
if you have any other questions, I'm here to help you! (sometimes I don't make sense when I try to explain how I did something...
)

Fantastic thread! Can't wait to see all the additions!
Also Fizzing Whizbees sound like they would work perfectly here in KY. Actual temp of 97 today, heat index of 115!

First I made rice krispy treats, and pressed them into a pan (next time I will use a deeper pan, as I has some spillage when I added the toffee)
I then used this recipe for the toffee: (they pour it over plain rice kripies instead of treats)
1/2 cup margarine or butter
2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 cups Rice Krispies®
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels, melted
1/4 cup toasted, chopped almonds
Why use Kellogg's® Rice Krispies®?
1. Line bottom and 1-inch up sides of 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan with heavy foil. Set aside.
2. Place margarine and sugar in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat until mixture bubbles, stirring constantly. Continue cooking 30 seconds. Pour into prepared pan, tilting to coat bottom. Carefully and evenly sprinkle with KELLOGG'S RICE KRISPIES cereal.
3. Bake at 375° F for 11 minutes. Cool 5 minutes on wire rack. Drizzle with chocolate and sprinkle with almonds. Let cool in pan on wire rack. Chill in refrigerator until chocolate is hard. Break into bite-size pieces and store in airtight container in refrigerator.
when it cooled off, I broke it into bite sized pieces and put them into a deep pot. I melted chocolate chips in a double boiler and poured it over the pieces and mixed it together. I then let it cool off in the refrigerator, re-broke it up and put them into containers
Hope that makes sense!

Here's the post i just made for butter beer cookies
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=385717.0
And I also made edible instant darkness powder by mixing a few pixie stix, black cherry kool aid packs, black sprinkles, pop rocks, and blue sugar (I dyed it myself with a ziplock and some food coloring then shake till mixed). Then I put the whole thing in a potion-ey looking bottle. It actually tasted really good, obviously really sweet but also tart and the pop rocks gave it a nice touch, plus it comes out looking all mysterious with all the colors mixed together.

Have you ever had a pack of pop rocks that was really old and you open it and they're all kinda stuck together in a big ball? That's the effect you're going for with these. The humidity or corn syrup makes them mush together like that.
