Subject: Meet Our 1Q2011 Home Sweet Home Featured Member - miep!

This quarter's featured member is always happy to share her room makeovers with us. We admire her creativity and sense of fun. We're pleased to announce this quarter's featured member is miep!

Tell us a little about yourself.

From early on I love crafting, decorating and refurbishing furniture. My biggest challenge is to make my house my home on a budget and with clever solutions. I'm very impulsive, so the morning when I decide that i want a different color on the wall, the walls have been painted in the evening. Therefore, my boyfriend gets crazy from me, luckily he usually finds the end result beautiful. Wink

Craftster and decorating blogs inspire me, and I am therefore delighted that people on craftster appreciate my rooms and decorating skills.

You've posted some terrific room makeovers here, are you redoing your entire house?

Yes I want to redecorate my whole house, and in my head I know exactly how I want every room. I have a few projects half finished, as my toilet, my craftroom and my daughter's room (which I already have put on Craftster ). This summer we want to do the exterior of the house. We need to paint and clean the outer walls. I also can't wait to buy flowers and plants to cheer it up.

Which room redo has been your favorite so far?

The pirate room of my son, because I could go totally crazy on the smallest details. I've really been able to use my fantasy. . I am also very proud of my garage door. Every time I drive down the street it looks great.

What do you have planned for your next Home Sweet Home project?

We have ordered a new vibrant red couch, and now we want to redecorate the living room. It is going to be in oriental style. I have been collecting all kinds of decorations in oriental style. And I want to use red, gold and brown colors. Because we want to close the door in the livingroom we also need to do the entryway too. Again, I have everything completely planned. Here comes padded wallpaper on the wall and butterflies and insects everywhere on the wall.
I can not wait to get started. When it is finished I will show it on craftster.

What advice would you give someone who has a room they want to make over and doesn't know where to start?

Try to find out which style or color you love and google for inspiration. Or what I usually do is: search for wallpaper or fabric where you are totally in love with, and design the rest around it.

On what other boards can Craftster members find your work posted?

I love to sew and creating crazy halloween or carnival costumes so you can find my work on the clothing board and I also like to use clay. Here is a link to a project on the polymer clay board.

What's your favorite item on Craftster created by someone else?

This is a difficult question because there are so many projects that I love on craftster. And I also get much inspiration from here. I think this is a crazy project by coloringmyworld that I might have to copy
