Hi all!
Nice to see you again.

This is is a whole deal of firsts for me; not only is it my first foray into shoe making, but it's also my first foray into challenges and my first real try and mixing media! I hope you like my entry; I certainly don't expect to win, but I hope you like my idea, anyway!
Here's a little peek;

It was my prom on the 1st July, and as I was unable to make my own dress (due to a crummy back injury) I decided instead to make my own shoes! Well, sorta.

I started out with my favourite pair of heels, which were getting pretty destroyed. They were scuffed and losing colour so I decided to beef them up a bit.

First, because it didn't even
occur to me to just polish the shoes, I decided to colour them in with a black fabric marker. I then attached a shorter silver chain and a longer black chain, before attaching 8 scrabble tiles.

They turned out looking like this;

Action Shot on the night!

I really like them, and they were a hit at Prom, but I had to walk around with superglue in my bag, for every time the shoes broke. They hold up pretty well, but I think the chains were a bad idea as it makes them quite easy to break but I still love them.

Hope you like them too!
Thanks for reading,
Rebecca.
