I saw a picture of birdcages with flowers in them in Fresh Home's Spring magazine and new I wanted some. And after I looked all over these vintage stores, Goodwill, and expensive antique shops, I finally found some at Ross.  I wanted a nice bright color to make this dark corner in my living room to be a little happier so I chose "colonial red."

The final project:

Now I'm debating whether or not to put in some silk flowers or remote controlled flame-less candles.

BTW--I learned that when it comes to spray paint--less is more. I had a few dripping issues.

Those are lovely Smiley
I personally would leave them empty.

I think pillar candles would look nice.

Pretty! I've been looking for birdcages, and they are a LOT harder to find than I thought. I'd leave them empty, but the pillar candles sound nice.

I love the look of it empty.  But if you wanted to do something more with them you
could get some sort of opaque paper, like wax paper, line the inside of the cage.
Maybe just the center part, and put a flame less, low heat light/lamp in it to have
a little bit of extra light in your dark corner.  It's just something I would consider.

I found them for about $10 a piece at Ross.  I'm pretty sure an antique one would have cost a lot more so I'm happy all around. Smiley
