Materials:
Polymer clay
broken perfume bottle
old watch gears
small metal eyelet

This is my first Steampunk project ever, and this is also the first time I am ever entering a Craftster challenge.

I accidentally broke the perfume bottle (I didn't store it properly, darn) some time ago, but couldn't bear to throw it away because I knew I could still use it in my future projects.  Good thing I am such a pack rat!

This project was inspired by Christi Friesen's book Steampunkery.  The bottle is covered with polymer clay, and I was careful to "seal" the broken corner so the jagged glass edges don't protrude.  I plugged the hole with clay, and topped it off with a small eyelet.  Although you cannot use it to store perfume anymore, you can attach it to a chain and wear it as a curious pendant around your neck.

I was so excited about this project that I wrote a note to Prof. Contraption, the character in Christi's book.  You can read it here on my blog: http://beadladyangeli.blogspot.com/2011/06/old-air-ozonizer-my-first-attempt-at.html

That's so awesome! I think I might have an old watch or two laying around, I should do something steampunk-y with the gears. Thanks for the inspiration. Cheesy
