Time to give up the old gym bag...new floral bag!

The old law firm I worked for gave out these bags as "Appreciation" gifts in 1997...yep--I have been using it for 14 years!

After many washings and lugging it to and from the gym for the last 4 years, it was time to give it up!

I used the old bag for the measurements and took off the hardware I needed, including the zippers.  Here is the new bag:

I used vinyl to reinforce the area where the handles join the body:


The bag is huge, to hold shoes, shower stuff, towels, etc. The zippered pocket holds my weight-lifting gloves, sports watch and my workout notebook.


Thanks for looking...I am happy with my new bag and my friends at the gym are so glad the nasty bag is no more!

If you used your old bag for 14 years it must have been a really good shape, so it's a great idea to use it as a pattern. I like the funky new fabric and your vinyl reinforcement patches look so much more effective than the other ones.

I do like bags that are more like huge sacks...I have tried bags with tons of pockets, zippers, etc. and find that in reality, I just throw things in...

I think I will make another one for the winter... ...maybe out of corduroy...

Yay for new bags!  I'm like you, as much as I'd like to use pockets, it all gets tossed in.
