What I would give for a frosting recipe that doesn't disintegrate into nothing! This is my third frosting recipe for frosting that you pipe on the buns. I did all nice and neat then went to put bits in the dishwasher came back to them and the beautifully piped frosting had disintegrated into nothing. The buns aren't warm I leave to go stone cold before icing them. If anyone has a frosting recipe that works I would be very grateful.  Smiley
Here are the pics. They taste so much nicer than they look. Undecided

use more powdered sugar in your icing and make sure the cake is completely cooled before you pipe it. Also you could try to refridgerate your icing a little before you pipe. for my frosting i use Butter heavy creamer and powdered sugar that is it. I dont have amounts i just add a dollop of butter a scoop of sugar and a gulp of creamer. Just make it tasty. Good luck and keep your hopes up. the ones you made look tasty too

Sometimes I throw cream cheese or sour cream in if it is not stiffening up like it should. you would need to refridge any leftovers, but that usually does the trick for me when mine gets runny and such.

also, altitude sometimes plays a part in recipes, temperature of things...
