Hi guys!  Haven't seen you for a long time.  Well, I'm back, this time with these new shoes:

I got the idea to paint shoes from the Art Club at our school, but decided I didn't want to wear some cheap canvas sneakers than would probably not last long or be comfortable to wear either.  Instead, I waited, forgot about the project for a while, and finally pounced when a pair of white Converse sneakers went on sale.  My inspiration to paint stars came from a friend, who wanted me to paint supernovas! Which I did.  (From top to bottom, first and second picture:  Swan Nebula, Milky Way, Crab Supernova, constellations including Leo and Cancer).

The Milky Way was inspired by that scene from Doctor Who (and really, my whole life, including these shoes, are) in Vincent and the Doctor where Vincent Van Gogh looks into the night sky and the viewer can see where the inspiration for the Starry Night came from.  Cheesy  Sorry, weird tangent.

I painted these over Spring Break, and it took me about a week to finish these?  I used artist quality acrylic paints that my friend gave me last year.  Then it took a while for me to use glossing medium to coat these (making them water-resistant and shiny) and finally wear them.  I think this is my favorite project to date! Smiley

Hope you like it~

That's simply amazing. I haven't seen your other shoes, but I fell in love with these sneakers.

When I saw the thumbnail, the first thing that came to my mind was Doctor Who.

Brilliant!  Now I'm more enthusiastic about wearing my old Chucks.  They're the newer models, so the manufacturing isn't as good as the vintage models. Sad  I wish I knew how to deconstruct it and repair the poor assembly.
