I bought a sweater from Goodwill and unravelled a sleeve to make these socks. The sweater was striped to begin with so I just stuck with the same stripe pattern; as I unravelled a whole stripe on the sleeve it became a stripe on my sock. I used size 2 dpns I think, but I can't seem to find the link to the pattern I used. It was a standard plain sock pattern, cuff-down.

I unraveled the sleeves before knitting the unraveled yarn into socks, they aren't sweater sleeves sewn into sock shapes. Now that I think about it, something like that could work with a wool sweater felted into slipper shapes though...

I've tried unraveling thrift store sweaters and I always wind up with a big knotted mess.  I love the stripe pattern and colours here.

Brilliant socks! Excellent re-purposing job, and I love the colour scheme - reminds me of Doctor Who.  Wink Cheesy
