These little pattern weights are for a friend who sews from patterns a lot. We always go to JoAnn pattern sales together and I thought these would be helpful to her since nobody likes pinning patterns! I know I don't.

They're made from some scraps of my old jeans, ribbon from stash, and a sack of pie weights I found at the thrift store. I'm pretty sure the pie weights are lead, so I feel good about saving them from someone's pies as well as from the mouths of the children whose parents frequent that thrift store.

I sealed 'em up good in there. You can see the shape better in this photo. I just drew a equilateral triangle (5.5" each side) for each one, cut it out, and sewed up the sides leaving a hole at the top to put the weights in. I'm ashamed to admit how long it took to draw triangles with three equal sides, so I won't.  Grin

I had enough material for four more, so I made myself a set. I finally got to use this silky blue ribbon I've been hoarding.

Cute little sacks of lead.

Thanks for looking!

What a thoughtful and adorable gift - not to mention, a totally clever idea. I hate pinning!
