Beautiful. You've balanced the stones with the rings so well

These look great. Had you not said they were spoons, I would have thought you did intricate work on a regular band. They are beautiful! I love that they are spoons.

nice work!  Tremendous work ... all of your rings are gorgeous.  Did you mount the stones?  I've only worked with cold connections, rather than heat, but I may have to try it out.

There is no such thing as regret. There is only a lesson learned.

Lesson learned indeed.

ohh jeez, for some reason i stopped getting email notices that there were more comments on here, sorry! i wasn't trying to ignore Cheesy

If you don't mind my asking, how do you shape the spoon? I have never worked with silverware (I wear it rather than work it), but I have wondered how the shaping is accomplished without damaging the pattern.

typically, i just use a nylon hammer to shape it around a mandrel. the inside gets a tiny bit flattened, but that actually makes the ring more comfortable to wear without being too visually obvious. the outside meanwhile isn't affected at all by the nylon.

Did you mount the stones?

yes, i make the settings (usually bezel settings) and mount the stones myself Smiley

everyone else, thanks for your kind words! Smiley

I think they are lovely. But how can you have the heart to cut a silver spoon? ok, the ones I have seen are antique Tongue wanted to buy one but I knew I wouldn't be able to do anything with it. I love the gems. I think the rings are amazing Cheesy

hehe i know what you mean. honestly most of the spoons i use are "rejects" for some reason (broken, bent, monogramed, etc) and i never use any of the super-nice antiques. they're too expensive anyway haha. so most of what i use is the stuff that would've been sent out to be melted down as scrap. i give them a second life Smiley

thanks!
