One weekend, I decided that I wanted to experiment with making a ridiculously huge perler bead project. I found two sprites that I liked, combined them, and added a couch...that took about 2 hours....UGH!

I bought the supplies and started on the project. It took two full weekends.

I used 50 square pegs, I have no idea how many perler and hama beads, and lots of energy drinks.

This was the first weekend's work. I ran out of Peter's skin color; so, I had to wait.

All the pieces together. I used textbooks, hand weights and much more to keep it flat.

I bought two pieces of heavy duty foam board for the backing. After I glued the project on the board, I laid it upside down and put all the weights back on top to keep it flat. Then, I used an exacto knife and cut the excess board around the picture. It's HUGE (4'X3') and there are a lot of mistakes; however, it's the first big one I've done.

Hehe! I'm glad you all like it. I was actually pretty surprised with my patience too; but, time kind of flew once I got the hang of it. After the border was on, I just zoomed through filling it. I think the next big one I attempt will either be a life-size Bender from Futurama or the USS Enterprise (obviously not full-scale).

I'm glad everyone likes it! I think that the beads only cost me about 25-30 dollars and the boards were like 5 bucks each. I already had all the pegboards.

This is ridiculous.  That is a monster of a project.  We only have 4 boards and we're happy when we get something that takes that size done.  Great work!

This piece is AMAZINGLY AWESOME!!!! Great job!! I don't notice any mistakes either!!! It all looks spot-on!

Question though.. I have only done as big as maybe a 2x3 board project biggest, and so I iron the whole piece as one and I'm done. With as big a project as this was for you, I noticed that you maybe ironed only the boards' worth of beads at a time, but the finished project doesn't look segmented or anything... How do you make it look like one giant single piece once you put it all back together? Huh  Huh  Huh
