Needed a bit of gamer art for my bland walls.

I present to you.....
PotaDos!!!
Evil genius computer turned potato battery.

This was a Triumph!

I'm making a note here, "HUGE Success".

It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.
She is based off the a scene in the game titled Chapter 8: The Fall
A point in the game where you and your new potato friend are falling alarmingly fast down a seemingly bottomless pit.

The quote is:

Below is the progression.

Started with some canvas, nails, and model magic.

Next, I added polymer clay sprouts, before painting.

The face was created with mud clay and colored cardboard.

Then came the wires....took me awhile to find RED alligator clip covers.

Now, time for the 3 used up Sharpies and silver pen for the spiral and quote.

She is finally finished up with a model magic side with red rubber detail and black plastic clasps to hold the face.

Holy mother of crazy robots!

I love it like crazy.  I have never actually played portal, but my oldest kid is constantly giving me a play by play, and I'm a little in love with GLaDos. 

You ROCKED this project!!!

I thought that that was a real potato, and I was like 'Hm...seems like it would be a piece of heavy wall art' and then I saw the picture of it unpainted and I was all 'WHAT the WHAT?!?!?!??!?!'

This is one of a couple of amazing portal themed crafts I've noticed since beating the game... I'm thinking a portal themed swap might be in order!?

One was going to be planned this summer, but it fell through.
A Portal or Valve swap would be wonderful and needs to be done.
I have way too many ideas in my head planned for the event. ^__^;

This is awesome! Very accurate. I thought you'd used a real potato until I saw the process photos. I'd love to have something like this with the electronics on it to make it actually say her lines.
