Hi all!  I almost forgot to post this!!  Here is the final piece:



I started out with this little wooden stool I've had in my kitchen for a while:


I had acquired this stool in Canandaigua, NY,  when I needed something to sit on at an outside gig...  Since then, it's been in my kitchen, helping me reach the stuff that's way up high.

After a few days of layering and painting and shellacking, I ended up with this.  Enjoy!!
