hoop modification?

Hello!  I was just given a Brother pe 150.  I would LOVE to try it out, but it didn't come with a hoop.  I have looked into buying one at various online places, including eBay, but don't want to spend that much until I know I actually like the machine.  Would it be possible to make a cheaper hoop work somehow?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I really would recommend buying the proper equipment, just because embroidery machines can be temperamental lol. have you tried calling local sewing shops to see if they can obtain a second hand or recon one?

if you get a second hand one, do tighten the screws on the bit that connects with the machine because mine were loose and it caused all manner of problems.
