While out thrift shopping one day, I came across shoes that weren't in too bad of shape. Except for some obvious chew marks on the heel, of course. I didn't really know what to do with them when I bought them, but for $2.50? I was already bought. In the end I decided to glitterize them. When I chose red, and after I did the glitter, my dad said they reminded him of the Wizard of Oz. So I put the yellow brick road on the bottom. ANYWHO. On to the pictures!
(Sorry they aren't that great. I'm sure many of you know how hard it is to take pictures of the shoes on your own feet)

Looking at the one picture, I noticed I need to touch up the glitter.

Awesome idea with the underside, so quirky and creative.
I've been dying to find a nice pair of thrift shoes to experiment with, you've inspired me, I'll go shopping tomorrow after school.

We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz.
We hear he is a whiz of a wiz, if ever a wiz there was.
If ever oh ever a wiz there was, the wizard of Oz is one because
because because because becaaauuuuuuse
Because of the wonderful things he does!
We're off to see the wizard.
The wonderful wizard of Oz!

Now that that's over, I have to say I love your shoes!

(and yes, I totally did type out that whole song by memory instead of copying and pasting it from the internet. Tongue)

What's the procedure here? Massive glitter dip-bath? Or did you work in segments?

They look so great, I think I'm going to make some blue ones for myself!!

These are too cute! How did you get such an even coating of glitter? And did you seal it? Using what?

Sorry! Questions!

I can't really tell how I did the glitter part so evenly because I use this to make money to buy myself stuff I don't really need. And they are sealed all around using a clear coat and polyurethane.
