I'm organizing a swap in July (Stone swap- come play!  Wink), and I've had the idea posted in the new swap ideas board for about a month. I have an idea for another swap, but it will be at least 2 months before I'll be ready to get started on that one (and maybe longer). I've seen a few ideas on that board which had a lot of interest, but the swap never happened, and I know that after something has been discussed for several weeks with no set date decided I start to lose interest because I figure it will never happen.
So anyway, how long before I plan to actually start a swap should I start a discussion thread about it? How long can the idea thread go on before you lose interest? I'd like to have the idea floating around long enough to peak swappers' interest, but not keep it going so long that they get bored. Smiley

i think if it is a good swap idea people would keep their interest for a good while, and if they dont keep an eye on that thread they would still watch for it in the new swaps section if theyre on often. If some people do lose interest you could still get the attention of other crafters anyway. ive seen topics from over a year ago spark new interest.

I think the key is to regularly check in and post on the thread, it shows you are still around and thinking of the proposed swap Smiley
