Well, this isn't one of mine.  I'm posting for my friend Tony; I met him recently by happenstance and was just blown away by his work.  He carves musical instruments--mostly drums--but is now working on an upright bass.  I interviewed him and everything, which you can read at http://lookwhatshefound.blogspot.com/2011/06/when-art-meets-music-tony-bodtmann.html

Now that is astounding, just Wow.

It must be incredibly difficult to not only make such a stunning sculpture but also to turn it into a resonating chamber.
