craftADDchick - I had no idea you lived in Worcester until just now! My ex that I dated for 2.5y lives in Shrewsbury! I would go over to Clark a lot to visit friends. Small world  Smiley

It sure is a small world! Did you ever live out this way?

And, thanks for posting all of those pattern links! That does make it easier!

Now, can you do anything about finding my missing yarn? Wink

And, now I have that Disney World song stuck in my head... Grin

No, I never did but I obviously visited. I dated someone else for the same amount of time who lived in Dracut. I lived half the time there, half the time here in Maine. I lived in Providence, RI for college. Both way closer than Maine but not as close as Shrewsbury (for anyone reading Shrewsbury and Worcester are right next to each other).

Haha hmmm well I can give you a hint on finding your yarn... It is where you last put it  Cheesy  Hmmm wouldn't it be great to have a mini GPS tracker for things? I hope you find it soon  Undecided

Nothing wrong with having that song stuck in your head! I find the best way to make that song more pleasant is to do the verses along with the chorus. Otherwise it is like "this is the song that never ends....yes it goes on and on..."  Tongue

Hey, you're practically a local! Especially when you compare those traveling distances to somewhere like Texas or California. That's what I love about New England- I can travel through 4 states in about 2 hours (if I start in Providence Smiley ).

And, I was just thinking I needed LoJack for my yarn... And the main problem is, I knew where it was, but when I had to move some stuff in a hurry, it got relocated, and I can't picture myself moving it. Plus, I think it's still in the bag that I brought it home in, so it's camouflaged. Smiley

Also, I don't know if I know many of the verses to that song, and I'm trying not to figure out if I do Grin

And, Massachusetts doesn't seem to have any info about the scarves on their site- at least that I could find. I wonder why?

I feel like a local in MA. I knew my way around the state better than Maine. Besides, we use to be the same state!

Ugh, just looked at the list from the S.O. Scarf site and MA isn't a participating state. BUT, the good new is that your surrounding states have longer deadlines than Maine(Jan 23rd). Lucky you  Wink

NY - Feb 1st        RI -  Feb 11th        CT - Feb 27th        NH - Feb 29th

I've been working on my scarf tonight. Since our power is out. We have an automatic generator so we can run the essentials like internet and tv  Tongue But it doesn't run power into my rooms or my craft room which was what I was working on cleaning today, so the scarf it is. Will post progress pics when I get the chance.

I crocheted by book light last night Smiley

Power might be out a week...the biggest problem for us is no water...can't get water if the well pump needs power!

Guess I will be eating out a lot and lugging water from work... Cheesy

Ooh, that sucks! We got lucky and while most of our town lost power, we only lost it for about 30 seconds. We're having friends over later today so they can come take showers.  Roll Eyes Hope your power comes back soon!

To keep this post more on topic, I have about 18 inches done on my scarf!

I do hope everyone on the East Coast is doing ok.  I'm thinking about you and hate seeing the awful pics coming over the news! Hang tight, ya'all! Best wishes from the Mid-west!  Smiley  *Plum lota good that does!*

Except for a leaking roof (right around the newly re-built chimney), I escaped remarkably unscathed from the storm. My power didn't even flicker! But, a gal I work with, who lives only a few miles away had no power all day, and my mom (she lives right on the coast) is still without power.

But, I didn't manage to find my yarn yesterday... maybe I'll find it this weekend.

And, AlsihaMisha, I'm probably going to send my scarf to RI. I drive through it often enough that it feels like part of MA Wink

And, alwaysinmyroom, I hope you get your power back soon! Not having any water is the worst part, I think. I have city water, so I would have been okay if the power went out (cold city water, but at least it was something). And, at least it's the summer, so you don't have to worry about not having any heat (unlike the ice storm situation from a few years ago...).

We got power and water and phones and TV and internet last night!  Never ever take those for granted... Cheesy

I did manage to get a bit more done on my scarf and will have to post a progress pic...because I doubt that I will be working on it a lot during September...too too much to get done before winter! Cheesy

Here is my WIP. It's inspired by the trapped bar house scarves from Harry Potter.  Smiley

Glad everyone survived the storm well and that power has been restored!
