I went to two stores looking for yarn. They each only had one color in stock. Grr. I ended up ordering it from joann.com. I figure the $5.95 shipping was worth the time and gas money I'd spend looking at other stores. So when it finally gets here I may sit and watch a movie while working on my scarf.

It's kind of a pain when you can only find one of the colors, or neither of them! It's not like they're unusual colors, either. Hmph! Stinks that you had to pay shipping, but I can understand (especially with the price of gas!).

I think I'm going to start mine tomorrow and take it in the car with me on Monday (unless it goes so fast tomorrow that I don't need to tote it along with me...in that case, I have another project that needs work).

Awesome, Welcome!  Grin

I think I am going to have to crochet my first scarf or else I am never going to get one done. I was planning on starting but then I got nerve damage in my shoulder(Which I've never had before, but that is almost gone) and this heatwave hasn't made it the best conditions to work in. How is everyone else doing? Has everyone found their yarn?

I think I need to set up a chair in the one room in my house that has an AC and get started. The pattern I have shouldn't take long, once I actually get going Wink

I arrived home from our trip to find a shipment from joanns.com with 4 skeins of yarn! Whoo hooo! Now I just have to decide on some patterns Smiley.

I have some knitting to do for a swap so I probably won't start anything for this right away but I'm going to get everything planned out.

AlishaMisha - I'm sorry to hear about your nerve damage! Hand crafting is harder on our bodies than we realize. I had a knitting teacher that made us start and end each class with stretches and exercises. It really does help. http://www.berroco.com/hg_workout.html. Feel better!!

always - I just saw the scarf you made. It turned out great!! I love the stripes.

Thanks Lime. It's actually almost gone in my shoulder now. Oddly enough I actually got all of my nerve damages from sleeping. Sadly that is the one act I can not control even if I wanted to. Crafting for me just makes the condition flare up but the initial injury is sleeping wrong. It's kind of silly really.

Today did indeed end up being cooler as I hoped. I plan on getting one of my knitting projects done first before I get to this scarf as I only have a little bit more to do on it. Also I've got to figure out what I want to crochet since my original plans were for knitting.

http://www.coatsandclark.com/Crafts/Knitting/Projects/Accessories/LW2369+Special+Olympics+Rib+Knit+Scarf+with+Stripes.htm

I'm casting-on, but will work on this minimally until August...=] Been crocheting so much this month that it is about time to change it up a bit!  Hope everyone else is happily stiting, too! Smiley

I finished a LARGE project for the 'Geezer' swap  (thank goodness, it was huge, and hot to sew), and now I am started on a scarf for my students for Xmas (1 made, 29 to go!).  As soon as I finish this scarf, I think I am going to start on one for the Special Olympics.  I had been picking up a skein or two of the specific colors/types that we need to use each time I went to a different craft store.  Like everyone else, my craft store never seemed to be in stock of all the colors/types at the same time!
