I FOUND MY YARN! YayYayYay!!

And, alwaysinmyroom, glad you've been restored to full 21st century functionality! Wink I know I go stir crazy when I don't have internet access for more than a day (and if I can't drive anywhere, it's even worse).

AlishaMisha, is that trapped bar scarf done by carrying the other color, like in tapestry crochet? It looks great so far!

Yay!  Glad you found your yarn, CraftADDchick!  =]  Hope to see update pics soon!  I'm taking mine on the road today to go and visit a friend.  The weather is cooling out here in the Midwest and it will soon be sweater weather.

Alwaysinmyroom...glad you are back on w/power.  We lost ours for several hours Friday evening...I just napped it away and was able to make the coffee as usual...only at 4am...=]
Truly hope that recovery from Irene comes quickly!

craftADDchick, super excited you found your yarn! I did indeed do the Trapped Bar Scarf in tapestry style. I just hate weaving in ends. Yay for crochet and being able to do that.  Smiley

I have a couple of crafty projects on tap for tonight (after lazing away most of my last day off), and then I'll be free to start on my scarf. One or two of the projects are school-related (my classroom walls are dreadfully blank), and I have some sewing I want to tackle (2 projects, but for one of them, I need to locate the fabric...story of my life, it seems).

I have a lot to accomplish, so I need to tackle it in tiny chunks so I can get it all done without losing my sanity!

Aw thanks, bananaleg!  No pattern -- just building on the backs of other's awesomeness.

Heading out on vacation this afternoon.  I think I'm going to be pretty busy, but it's wonderful to take the knitting along for the hours in the airport.  I hope to finish the houndstooth, and have another try at the diagonal stripe going, too -- just for a change of pace!

Tapestry style--I have no clue what that is but you can bet I am looking it up!!  I hate weaving in ends... Sad

The scarves are all looking good!  I had to go out and get zip lock bags...I want to be sure that I do not "lose" my scarves in all of my junk as I am cleaning out my house!! Cheesy

CraftADDchick--glad you found yarn!  I think it will be easier now that the seasons are changing!

Tapestry is when you crochet over the color(s) you are not using. Then when you need to  use one of the colors that you crocheted over you just do the last step of a dec with the new color and continue until you need another color. It is the same technique as the Argyle Scarf I had posted that pinkleo did for the '10 (?) S.O. Scarf.  I like the technique way better than the little cross stitches over sc that some patterns use to add color. If you look hard you can see the color(s) underneath the stitches but it isn't hugely noticeable.

I've got a request for a crocheted item from a swap partner, so I once again have to put the scarf down for a little bit until that is finished. Though that shouldn't take too long...or so I hope.  Tongue

Nice!! The red yarn is my favorite so I am glad to see more of it!

Will you then add the mixed border at that end?
