My youngest is not quite 6 months old yet, but is definitely a drooling machine. She soaks her shirts constantly, and I go through her clean clothes in a very short time. My husband suggested we get some bibs (I don't know why I didn't think of it first) but I decided to make them instead. I found a nice easy tutorial online at http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/2010/10/october-21-fold-up-and-snap-bib-tutorial-watermelon-wishes-giveaway/ and tried it out! I modified it very slightly, mostly because I didn't like the way it curved where it snapped in the back.

Here's my little girl with the second bib I made, with a terrycloth back.

And here's the first one, which was a test run, and made out of just flannel, I think.

They start as mostly just a big rectangle, which you round at the top and put a neck hole in, then stick some snaps on so you can snap it up to catch crumbs or whatever, and you can unsnap it and toss it in the washing machine!

They look so simple and so useful, amazing.

Look twice, buy once. Nooooo
Look twice, decide I can make one instead.

Thanks! They're sure getting used quite a bit, with the terrycloth one more as a chewing rag than a bib!
