I made this set of four coasters for my Aunt and Uncle. They have played Canasta for years with my parents, so I thought it would be fun to make coasters that they could use while they played (and when I play with them). The fabric came from a pair of pajama pants that I had that kept shrinking in the wash. So I cut the pants down to shorts and used the leftover material.

I used this pattern: http://www.makeit-loveit.com/2009/07/fabric-coasters.html

I had a little trouble with them as they were a stretchy material and kept sliding as I sewed it together, so some of the edges are a little wonky, but I like them a lot. I presented them to my Aunt and Uncle when my Mom and I went down to visit last week. I can't wait to make more coasters and give them as gifts!

What an apposite gift, how kind of you, they are lovely and I wouldn't worry about the wonky edges, they don't detract at all.
