For the latest hoopla swap I was tasked with making a hoop for Songs4Drowning. After struggling to make a science fiction domed city, and putting it on the back burner to finish some other time, I had to choose a new theme.

So I now give you, purple yetis.

I looked around the internet for all kinds of yeti, so if they don't look like your traditional yeti, there's good reason for that. My boyfriend looked at it and asked, "since when do yeti have horns?" Since now. Wink

They were worked with a lot of different stitches. She was outlined in (I think) feather stitch. It was going to be twisted chain stitch, but I messed up the first one, and then liked this better. He is outlined in a knot stitch. They are both filled in with back stitch. The feet and horns are satin stitch, the heart is chain, and the arms are outlined in stem stitch (the fist time I've gotten it to work right). The rest is back stitch.

I hope you like them, as they are some of my favorite work.

I love the stitches you used, especially the filling stitches in the faces and bodies! The yetis look so sweet together under the stars. Smiley

I love the idea of a yeti sampler Smiley

Thanks for the kind words everyone. It feels good to make something you love for someone and have them love it too, but it's also nice to hear other people say they like it too  Cheesy

I've never seen so much filling with just back stitch- that must've taken forever, and your stitches are so neat.  I love it!  And they're the cutest things ever- I'd pay so much money to have these little guys running around my house  Grin

I'm so blown away by the yeti on my wall, how detailed and lovingly made they are. Smiley You did such an amazing job, and I ADORE THEM.
