After being thoroughly disheartened at the lack of modern, tailored shirtdress patterns, I used a 1966 Simplicity pattern (6833) from my collection to create this dress.  I took my time, first making a muslin, then shortening the sleeves and bodice, and finally creating this:

I'm really not that pregnant...only 14 weeks.  The wind caught my dress.

The question is, do I dare wear it anywhere beyond an elementary school playground???

Sure!  Here's a nutso close-up starring a bow-tie I made for a student of mine...and the glasses, too.

I found them at some antique shop or flea market.  I usually source vintage frames as I can never find anything I like that's "me" enough at optical shops.
