Using the ties was a brilliant move.  Precut Dresden plate pieces by just snipping off the excess length!  Nice arrangement and workmanship, and the quilting enhances rather than detracts.  I'll be adding this to my list of projects.

I cut the fan blades rather than using the tips of the ties. That made them consistent sizes/angles and I could use the tie in more than one block. You can use the cut off tips as prairie points, too, btw Wink I just didnt' have time to incorporate them in my design (I had a deadline).
