Colony brooch 2.
inspired by my recant trip to Handor island, Scotland. i think the cane is too detailed (in comparison to the penguin cane) to possess the simple charm and abstract quality of the the first but i like it non the less. if only because i love puffins Grin

the cane before packing and reduction

as always comments or advice are more than welcome Smiley

In that last picture, could you give an idea of scale? It looks huuuuge!  Shocked (I am assuming they're floorboards though...)

As always, it's fantastic, although I see what you mean about it being busy.

thank you
that would be one giant cane! Shocked the floorboards are are actually my work top. the puffin cane measured just over 4 inches from top to bottom (the cane itself was larger after i packed it)  Smiley
the finished brooch measures 4 by 5.5cm, the individual puffins are about 1.5cm tall.

I love this, the detail is great and the way you have layered them into a slightly abstract pattern really adds visual impact!  Grin

This is a fantastic piece.  I don't think it's too busy at all and I love the beaks.

The puffins look fantastic. Just like the penguins, they have that nice abstract quality.
