Shrink plastic jewelry making - Doll Brooches ...

So, I discovered shrink plastic and I've been having a blast making doll brooches. Basically, you draw on the plastic with permanent pens/markers. I punched holes so I could attach legs to mine and then you heat it in the oven.

Can I ask what kind of markers you used?  I've tried Sharpies on shrink plastic before (as well as some other kinds of markers and even colored pencils) but they all seem to come off onto my hands and stuff after they're shrunk, almost as though there's too much ink because it's being compressed.  Do you have this problem at all?

I used Sharpies, but what I did when I got them out of the oven is let them cool and then I took them outside and sprayed them with a clear acrylic sealer. I think I used Modpodge brand. But, you'll need to do a couple of light coats. If you do it too heavy the colors will run.
