Yay for poor quality web-cam pictures? This octopus could be found on the lionbrand website, and I thought my friend would love it! I made this octopus for my friend's birthday, which we will be celebrating this Saturday. I started this mid-day Monday and have been working on it off and on since then.
By today, I only had to put the face on, and I'm not entirely happy with the mouth. Any suggestions? Maybe I should put a mustache..?

Oh, and since taking the picture above, I've fixed that little amount of embroidery floss hanging out from the eye.

Black and red tentacles? I'm sure your friend will adore him, I think he's rather sweet myself.

Look twice, buy once. Nooooo
Look twice, decide I can make one instead.

Looks like you have done a great job. A great birthday present for your friend.

But why not go with no mouth?

I keep a look-out for octopus patterns to knit as there is a young fellow up the street who is obsessed with them. I will take a look at the Lionbrand site - because it sounds like it did not take long for you to knit, and the simpler they are, the better. (For me anyway.)

This is really cute!

I like the mouth the way it is.  It goes along well with the mismatched eyes.

He's adorable! I had no idea that sort of pattern was available for free; I haven't seen many octopuses.  Thanks for the hint, I'm going to have to look up the pattern, too. Smiley
