So - TODAY is my 5th wedding anniversary - I was so blessed to be able to marry my best friend (and love of my life) 5 years ago and knowing that he has a crafty wife my sweet hubby presented me with a gift for our anniversary.

The traditional gift for the 5th anniversary is wood - and I'm crafty - and I'm a beader... and he knows me SOOOO well Smiley

So he made this heart pendant/bead for me (by hand!) and even drilled a hole through it, so of course, I immediately made it into a bracelet (we have a couple of small boys and any necklace Mommy wears does not last, so bracelets are big for me right now).
Anywho - I thought it was totally sweet that he spent the time to make something out of wood for me that suited me so well and I just had to share!

So here it is:

It has the roman numeral "V" on it for 5.

Thanks for lookin!

What an amazing gift, and what a beautiful piece!  I love the look of the woodgrain, and it makes a completely gorgeous bracelet.

The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. . . . I would rather have cheese.

Oh, that's so sweet! It looks like it goes really well with the rest of the beads, too.

Thanks everyone - I'll be sure to pass your comments on to my hubby. I joke that he deserves a medal for putting up with my craft-insanity (he gets woken up in the middle of the night by me mumbling to myself and sketching things out on paper, etc) and dealing with the way that craft has a tendancy to take over the house sometimes (what do you mean you want to EAT at the kitchen table?! I'm scrapbooking here!) but he's still a pretty sweet guy - and he knows what I like. No fancy jewels for this gal (I'd probably just lose 'em or get em covered in rubber cement or something anyway)... but something homemade and heartfelt... perfect. Smiley
