Do those MIA get negative feedback for never saying if they received or not?  I hope so, but the swap feedback system is somewhat lacking.

If they send and it is confirmed as received they get positive feedback. But the swap organizer can make a note of "poor communication" when they leave feedback. If they disappear and the swap package they are suppose to send is never received then they get negative.

Its tricky to judge positive vs negative in a lot of cases, so the feedback rules have to be universal. Basically if a person fulfills the swap by sending the required amount (which is sometimes fuzzy to judge in itself) and it is received then they get positive feedback. I think the system is decent and fair, although there have been a few times I wanted to give someone negative feedback, but that is what the comment section is for, so other swap organizers can have an idea of the swappers and if they send on time, have god communication, and such. An organizer can always decide not to let someone in their swap if the comments suggest a poor swap experience.

I think that's a different situation though. In one swap I was in,  I sent but my partner never said if they got it or not. I got a positive (I had my dc#) and my partner got a comment about poor communication. I would NOT have been happy if my feedback had any negative comments because my receiving partner flaked. I'm not sure how it would work for the lighter-weight swaps (ATCs, 44c swap etc) that don't have dc# to prove the package was sent. But still, I'd like the partner to say she didn't receive it before I re-sent.

(and for a related, but not really, side note, having a dc# should be proof enough that the package was sent, I shouldn't have to provide pics of the package to prove I met the swap requirements to get feedback when a receiving partner flakes, like I saw a while ago on a swap sign-up post.)

I think I have poor communication skills right now  Tongue The "they" in this sentence: "If they send and it is confirmed as received they get positive feedback." is the MIA swapper... I completely agree that if someone goes MIA and never says a package was or was not received then that should NOT count against their partner, but I was saying the MIA swapper would still get positive feedback if the package they sent was received by the non MIA partner. Am I making sense? .....

The swap mods take situations like this on a case by case basis so the best thing to do is open a Help desk ticket with your concerns.  We definitely take into consideration if a partner is out of communication (or completely MIA) and has not confirmed receipt of their package, especially if the DC# confirms delivery; that should not reflect poorly on the sender.  Posting pictures are not a requirement of the Craftster Swap rules for either partner to receive POSITIVE feedback   Smiley
