Christmas ornament from old plastic ball

Today I found three plastic balls. The type you find in vending machines and that hold a little toy or something.

I covered the inside of one with glitter and red stars, glued the two pieces together and added some decoration. First I wanted to make a necklace out of it, but now I'm afraid the plastic gems would fall off.

On the top there's a wire.

What could I do with it? Still use it as a necklace pendant? I'm unsure.
