So I entered the Dollar Store Challenge, (have you seen that board yet? http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=37927.0 , spend up to $5.00 and make something fabulous from the goodies--go vote on your favorite!), and what I came up with was a tiara made from the hardware supplies I bought.   I haven't seen too many tiara posts lately, so I thought I'd share my finished product here too.

Below are the supplies I started with and my new-fangled tiara.  Now I just have to find someplace to wear it!  Cleaning the house, doing laundry, whenever I am visiting the craftster site... but how will I rationalize wearing it to the supermarket?

Check out the upcoming challenges and challenge ideas:

Wow!  That is really cool!  Did you have to weld it together?  What are the blue things?

I just looked at the other projects on the Craft Challenge and I'm getting inspired!

Thanks!  Everything on the tiara is just wired together except the aqua-blue glass gems, those I glued.  I was going to solder a few parts together, but decided to see if I could do it without solder.  I may solder it later to re-enforce the connection of the bolt with the gem a the top of the tiara.

I voted for it...I think it's really cool...probably holds up better than the the plastic junk they sell in stores, too!  I think I will try and make one like it for my daughter; she wears tiaras sometimes, as a fashion statement....TishaL ee
