I needed a new bag for hitting up the theme parks and taking to the gym and beach... I had a really awesome canvas drawstring bag from way back, but it is falling apart and I have dozens of times, but I think its life is almost up Sad

So I played copy-cat, and made my own Smiley No pattern, just measured the old bag and started cutting rectangles Cheesy (I also forgot my bed time and was extremely tired at work today, whoops!)

The bag, full and drawn:

Empty and undrawn:

Obnoxious blue lining and a pocket with a zipper (the pocket hangs loose from the top and the zipper is from a stash from my grandma's stash):

I also did this weird thing on the straps which I didn't finish. I wanted them to be adjustable, but with buttons. So far there is only buttonhole per side and one button per side, which I plan to fix so they don't pop off. I also have a pair of backup safety pins inside in case I use the bag before fixing that Tongue

Thanks for looking!

I did it without a pattern. The sides started as 15" by 19" rectangles, then I overlaid 15" by 5" rectangles on the bottom of those rectangles. The bottom is about a 9-10" diameter circle, and all the straps were 3" wide long strips folded in half (I didn't measure the length). I took me all night because I didn't really plan anything in advance and kinda threw things in as I went along (like the pocket) so I had to unstitch a few things once or twice.
