I haven't been sewing too long and seem to do well with straight lines like curtains and pillows.  I just finished my craft room and it has a raised counter area to make it easier to cut.  I decided a few weeks ago that I needed an ironing pad that will fit on it and turn it into a big ironing board when I need it and tuck away when I don't.

Like I said, I'm pretty new at this but was happy with the way it turned out.

My basement is finally finished - Craft room on one side, Bar on the other side.  Why would I ever want to come back upstairs?

Very nice - much handier than a clunky, bulky ironing board that you have to fold and unfold.

i like that.  you can iron more at a time instead of on the actual board.  I am intrigued by the large crayon box underneath too.

Brilliant idea!! I have to sew in my kitchen (small house)  and this would be perfect instead of dragging my ironing board out and taking up space!

My mom got me the crayon box many years ago when I was in college.  It came filled with all kinds of drawing and writing tablets from Crayola and I think some crayons and pencils.  It has taken a bit of a beating over the years but I still love it!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments - the ironing pad has become one of my favorite items in my craft room.
