Hey there Felty folks!
What say you to a felting challenge?  ( I hear a resounding yes yes yes!!!! Grin) But before we can go into detail over it, I need to hear some suggestions as to theme.  Here are my ideas:

-Inspired by a picture, but the same picture, not one you have, so we'd all be using the same inspiration.  Any item could be created using any felting technique.
-Cowls
-Nuno felting
-Needle felted monsters/ animals/people
-mittens
-Color scheme themed (monochromatic, complementary etc...)

What do you think?

I would do a felting challenge! Any of those ideas would be a real challenge for me since I'm such a felting newb. I am interested in learning nuno felting - I just love the rainbow piece you sent me!

Cool! That's one.. Cheesy  And thank you, that piece was fun.

I just looked at the list, and some of those things I listed are less easy for beginners! Ha!  But other themes are welcome, too. So if you have any ideas let me know!

I'm not sure of your timeline but remember Oct. 1st is the 3rd International Day of Felt! Each year they use a wedge of the color wheel as a very basic theme (this year is blue, purple, red). Maybe you could build your challenge on that? Working from your first idea of using an inspiring picture, you could find a pic that is mainly the theme colors and go with any form of felt preferred (which would allow for all levels of experience). And at the end everyone would have an awesome piece to display for the International Day of Felt!

Just a thought! Check it out...especially the photos from the past years' creations! Gorgeous work!

That sounds like a lot of fun! I have a bunch of freshly dyed roving just crying out to be made into something. I'll be watching this to see what happens. Cheesy

I'm going to link to the discussion for the International day of felt.  So whether or not we  use it as a challenge theme, you guys can chat about what you are making for it, if anything Cheesy

I've never participated in a challenge but if the timing is right I might have to for this one.

In general I think it's more fun to have a thing (i.e plant, animal, etc.), color, emotion, etc and then let people use any felting technique or project that inspires them.

Popping this up to the top, hoping there's still interest in a Felting challenge.  Does anyone have some themes, ideas, methods we could base the challenge on?

I'm new to felting but this does sound fun  Smiley

Not sure if you had these themes before, but I'm thinking... Maybe landscape felting? Either 3D or on fabric. Or maybe felting a miniature of your own house?  Wink
