I've wanted to make a soft book for a wee while after seeing some of the awesome felt name books on here. Instead, I decided to do an Auckland version, as we live in Auckland, New Zealand and I thought it would be cool to remind my wee boy of his local backyard. Its taken me about a month on and off to do it, and I wish I had done it completely in felt, as I used jersey for the pages and it was a pain (though I had loads of the stuff). Some of my stitching is a bit wonky, but every time I picked it up to work on, wee boy would come investigating, so I blame it on him  Wink

The cover got drawn on a little... and I need to re-do it a little, but thats ok!

One of our local inactive volcanoes, Rangitoto

The sky tower. I might add a wee person jumping off it, as you can bungy off the top.

One tree hill (the tree was cut down in protest about 10 years ago, though the name hasn't changed)

Piha. I ran out of a colour of felt in this one and really couldn't be bothered going all the way to the store to get more... Its actually a black sand beach, which my husband pointed out after I was done. Not sure why I didnt think about that before- its not like I haven't lived here for years!

The harbour bridge.

Lastly, an action shot of my wee boy playing with it (and eating a peg...)
