What a lovely idea and so well done! Thank you for sharing this!
I was just looking through my recipes and noticed how they always seem to get messed up and blotched by actually using them. I might have to get inspired by you and make a new book for them =) Disguising them as spells is totally awesome =)

Yeah, we intentionally age and distress the pages so you can't tell it from the stains we put on it cooking.  Wink  You should see some of our old recipe books.  You can judge the recipes by how illegible and filthy the pages are.  Cheesy  We finally got wise just a while back and installed a book holder under the cabinets above the counter.

A book holder... hmmm... that might even work in my kitchen- good idea... And don't you just hate it when the stains end up (for instance) on the number of eggs you'll need? =)
I agree about the quality of recipes being visible by illegibility of the page .. Wink Also, it always reminds me of a Jackson Pollock using food for painting.

Always the case in our books!  Cheesy  That and my chicken scratch notes everywhere for substitutions and calculating half and double batches don't help legibility. Wink  The book holder is great.  It folds up to the cabinet out of sight when not in use.  No idea where we got it.

...Jackson Pollock using food for painting.

Hehe.  Made me chuckle.  Cheesy
