so, an acquaintance asked me to plan a perfect pinup party for her friend that's getting married in oct. she said when she thought pinups she thought of me, which is oh-so-flattering. basically, i'm super excited and have lots o' ideas running around in my little head. for starters, i would be in charge of Hair and Makeup, Wardrobe, Photography, decor, and party favors. I want to hand make all that i can with some vintage clothes of course. i was just wondering if anyone had any advice for me! my tentative plan is for the 4-6 guests to pick out outfits from my dress up trunk and let me doll them up and then take pictures of them in front of backdrops with cute props. i want to the pin up look to be very very traditional and not too racy. Smiley thanks in advance for any feedback!

Oooh, my friend who is a professional creative portrait photographer recently ran a pin up/ burlesque workshop. She also did my purple hair photos last year.

Think pasties (can be made yourself), thigh high lace stockings, big feathery fans, frilly knickers (the big boyleg kind), boas, pearls, red red lippy...

If you look at Matchless Snapshots on Facebook you'll get the idea.

Oh, and don't forget to have champagne in long stemmed flutes for all the girls!

I think you should also have some fun props like heart-shaped pillows, old suitcases, a record player, and a rotary phone.  And if you could get some vintage Vargas calendars (which could double as favors) or a coffee table book, then you could have the girls flip through them and practice poses and decide on hair-dos while they wait for their turn.  Your friend could save some money by having women bring their own makeup (that's cleanlier too), just make sure you tell them no neutrals!  This is an awesome idea.  I'm so jealous I don't know the bride!
