Who wants to have fun sewing this cute little tote bag?  I know I do!  In fact, I already did, when I made the one in the picture!!  This is a free pattern from Wendi Gratz at Shiny Happy World; the link is here.  

This is a very small tote, just 7.5" x 8.5" (big enough for your lunch, or a small work in progress, or a child's coloring book and crayons)--but it is a blank canvas for creativity!  You would be free to embellish it any way you want to match your partner's tastes, then fill it with goodies.  These could be store bought or hand made, or a mix of both.

Here's something very exciting:  I have been in touch with Wendi Gratz herself, and she not only endorses this swap, but she says she might even join it!  If you are interested, be sure to check out Shiny Happy World.  It is a wonderful website full of sewing tutorials and patterns.

I will be co-organizing this swap with susanab; we are still finishing up the Ninni Monster swap, so we will wait to start this until early/mid July.  That gives you time to open up a slot in your crafting calendar!

We tote-ally love this idea because it's great even for beginner sewers. You can make it patchy, paint on it, Bead it, stamp on it,  embellish it with appliques, trims, dangling things..anything goes.

I saw this on your blog and I have been waiting so patiently for you to start this! When someone mentioned a Ninni round 2 I was both excited but nervous because I thought it might mean you wouldn't do this one. So... Ninni round 2 after Craft This Tote round 1?!

OMG - this is an adorable and great idea!!!!  I am so wanting to join this - but I just packed away all my sewing/crafting supplies except for what I need to finish a couple of other swaps   DH is renovating the basement, and the framing for our new addition.  I really am looking forward to see what comes from this, and hopefully there will be another in the future I can join!

LHH (and SN) - Leslie, you know I'm in!!!  Just finishing up my projects for the Button swap, and this tote swap is the next I want to dive in to!  I printed the little tote pattern last night, and of course, will have to make a trial run after I finish my button stuff and before the tote one begins.  FUN FUN FUN - Yippee - Thanks for thinking of fun stuff you two!  U R AWESOME as usual.
