This was my entry for the Mod Contest that Sublime Stitching hosted recent ly.  Proud to say that I go second place!  It was a fun project and not something I would do normally so it was a great change of pace!

These words popped up in every article I read about mod fashion.

close up of "Fro"  I used 3 different colors to make the hair, sorry the pic is not real great.

same with her I used 3 different colors in her hair as well

Pretty Kitty!

I wanted her dress to look kinda plaid or checked so I did a basketweave stitch.

Her dress was long and short stitches and lazy daisy dasies.  It reminded me of Goldie Hawn.

Its hard to see but I used a wrapped back stitch for this for a little depth.

Thanks for looking! Grin

Gosh Anya Kase!!!! I was scrolling down the pictures and just when I thought "Ooh, that's my favorite part, there was another and another!!"  I do love the fro and miss blondie's hair and that plaid dress...and the pretty kitty! Congrats on the placement!  Where do you find the time to stitch so many great things?

Truly GROOVY!  I love this - and the blonde does remind me of Goldie Hawn!

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.

Thanks everyone!  I was very excited about the 2nd place! (Now I can order lots of scissors!)

Where do you find the time to stitch so many great things?

Luckily I'm a stay at home mom and I've told the kids that embroidery is my "Job" so when they want something they say to each other "We have to go ask daddy, mama's "Working"   LOL!

Thanks again!
