Hi! This is my first posted object in clothing. I made this for the premiere of Deathly Hallows, and I've just now gotten around to posting it. It was actually the first thing I ever made that wasn't a purse. I can tell you now after having made it, that was not a smart move on my part. I learned a lot with it though.

Here is a picture of the entire shabang. I made the robes out of two bed sheets, and one pillow case. (I only had a $20 budget for the costume) The guy wearing the robes was rather tall, so I used an entire sheet for the back, trying to make it drape right. Snape is the most difficult of all the teacher robes because he has an odd type of pleating on the back.

Here's an image of the back, and draping. It took me about twenty hours to make the entire thing, including the sleeves. They open at the elbows and fall to about his knees.

And an image of the dark mark I painted on. (I actually used Water colors instead of face paint for the premiere, it didn't do the flakey thing that face paint does when it's on for a long time.

Thanks for looking and please let me know what you think.

i am a big Snape fan and I love it Smiley I am actually about to make the same thing in mini for a 16" Snape doll/figure I sculpted! I am in fear lol I am not much of a costumer! (update, my Snape doll is finished!)

But you did a great job, i wouldn't have thought to use bed sheets! clever!
