Some of you may remember my first (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=189436.msg1988290#msg1988290) eyeball door knob cover. I was never completely happy with it.  It stretched out after a day of use and made opening doors impossible. I also never really liked how the crocheted version looked.  Since then, I've taught myself how to knit (with the help of the internet, of course) and have been knitting a lot.  Yesterday, I decided to make a better one.  And this was born.  It keeps its shape, it bounces back, thanks to the addition of dots of puff paint on the inside, it doesn't slip when you try to open the door.  Finally, but definitely one of the best parts, this one has an open pupil so you can still unlock your door with out having to take it off!  I might ad some veins coming up from the back of the eye.

this is so cute.  I would consider knitting 30 or so and festooning everyone in the neighbor hood's doors....

That's so cool!  I love that you put puff paint inside so it would grip, that's brilliant!  If I didn't have serious issues with sticking a key in an eye, I'd totally want one.

I have to admit the key in the eyeball is a lovely touch.

Not something I'd ever want to happen to one of mine, though. Smiley

I love this!  I'm going to have to make one of these for myself at some point!  Good call on the puff paint too.
