We had lots of fun tonight! Went to see Harry Potter. Of course, we had to get there about an hour early to get in line for a good seat.

Here he is showing off his ticket as he waits in line. (Can click for larger)

And he HAD to get a picture with the awesomely huge lobby display. (Can click for larger too)

Such a great movie! Gus wants a wand now so we may have to make a craft project for him. Cheesy

Bexster - no fair that you got a rainbow photo! I've been trying to get one all week for 'something magical'. But despite the rain we've had, no rainbow!

ptarmic wumpus - cocoons to butterflies is so cool!! That photo is beautiful.

And of course I love all the HP entries!!  Smiley

So funny that you say that!! I won't post photos of Alfred dressed up for the movie because I want it to be a surprise but here he is with his magic wand (about 1/3 the size of mine) and S.P.E.W. badge. I was Hermione and handed the badges out to people Cheesy

Oh and phoenixfiredesigns - I LOVE the photo of Gus with Kylie - such a cute photo! My dog is sure to get upset when she smells another dog on Gus!!  Wink Wink

It turns out that my mind does not go broader than the topic of Harry Potter this week so here is my pathetic entry for 'something magical'. Sorry for failing you, lacey0828.

Alred is helping me make a x-stitch for my Doctor Who loving friend. I known the Tardis isn't magic but it's the best I have.

It's been a bit of a quiet week again, but today I'm going to figure out some fun things to do, I never realized how much we stay indoors in the summer in Arizona. We are trying to find out when to head north for the day to escape the heat. But.....I finally have my something magical picture!!!! This week Pamela's park hopper ticket came in for WDW!!!! She is ready to go, I have to keep reminding her that it's still 6 weeks away though  Undecided. There's not much more magical than Walt Disney World right?

Also, here's one of the pictures from work. Pamela did so good that day that she was presented with the Thumbs Up Award  Grin

Okay we're playing catch up because we've been away for the week.

Nearly all of our pictures are nature pictures because we did a lot of camping and a lot of hiking in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan...

We did a lot of driving and had to make a pit stop in Mackinaw City so we camped right on the shores of Lake Huron and if you look close you can see the Mackinaw Bridge in the background

Ricki was a dab hand at making camp fires and got them all set up for us to light

We took a boat tour along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore which is about 40 miles of exposed Precambrian rock which is all kinds of pretty colours due to the mineral seepage which has taken place

We did lots of hiking and on one of the trails Ricki found a throne for herself

She was also very good with directions and made sure to check the trail markers so we didn't get lost in the woods

During the evenings we relaxed on the beach and watched the sunset on Lake Michigan.

Ricki was useless in helping us set up the tent so it's just as well that she was such good company.

Lots of hiking...

We also visited the Lower Tahquamenon Falls.

To get to the falls we had to take a row boat out to an island and Ricki helped navigate the way

We also had a good dig around for cool bugs and insects in dark places

I'm thinking about getting metal legs. It's a risky operation, but it'll be worth it.

Okay, it's a bit of a cheat for the 'something magical' because I haven't seen the movie (I, um, actually haven't even watched the first half of Deathly Hallows!) but I do have something that Tuesday just had to go messing with, despite me telling her not to...

(Don't worry, I got her out before any fiberfill was spilled!)

Then we went to see Fifi, the world's only flying WWII B-29 bomber!

That rainbow picture is awesome!  So are all the nature pictures - I really want to go out to the arboretum, but we're under a heat advisory (still, and for ALL of next week!) so I think we're going to stick to indoor activities...

Trevor went downtown today to see the tourist stuff and also some of my favorite little places on the Mall. He posted more pics on his blog: http://trevorgreentravels.blogspot.com/

In front of the White House:

At the Hirshhorn sculpture garden:

He picked up some souvenirs, and is now going to help plan what to do next weekend when it will be really hot.  I have promised him a trip to the new Hobby Lobby, so maybe we will go there and also check out the Visitor Center at my work. For the rest of the afternoon, he is going to help me craft and make sour cherry soup Smiley

That picture is ADORABLE, Anofeles!

Pippi found a nice spot to hide from the hot sun.  She climbed the giant tree in the backyard and relaxed watching birds and squirrels while we got the grill ready for dinner.  Very "nature-y"!  Smiley

I love to see all the things that Pippi is doing on her holiday. I am so sorry I haven't posted more pictures yet. I am off work for three weeks now though (finally summer holidays!) so pictures will come shortly!
